Our Story

The Healthcare Alliance Response to Adolescent Depression (HEARD) Alliance was established in 2011 as a community alliance of health care and school professionals, including primary care clinicians, mental health providers, and school mental health leaders that was formed after a local youth suicide contagion.

Our Mission

We aim to increase collaboration amongst primary care, mental health, and education-focused professionals to enhance the community's ability to promote youth mental health and wellbeing, to facilitate treatment of depression and related conditions, and to prevent suicide in youth and young adults.

Our Website

This site is a place for primary care, mental health, school professionals, media members, families and youth to access resources created or compiled by the HEARD Alliance. Although the HEARD Alliance is based in the peninsula region in the San Francisco Bay Area, our tools and resources are relevant for users anywhere.

All tools and resources included here may be used free of charge and without copyright restriction. Tools created by the American Academy of Pediatrics are available by special permission for all website users.
